A chunky knitted sweater\, a similarly chunky (but not knitted ) stew\, a fireplace and a good book. What could be a more basic human comfort than a night of laughter\, far away from the cares of the world? That’s where Plymouth Comedy Club comes in\, now in it’s twelfth year of bringing the best comics from all across the globe to the city.\nOn October 7th we welcome two more world class comedians\, headliners anywhere in the country\, to top and tail our return to the Green Taverners’ Suite. On the one hand we have Eddy Brimson\, a no-nonsense Londoner that’s not afraid to speak his mind. Witty\, insightful and possessing a tremendous way with words\, Eddy’s comedy is up front\, honest and veers from the personal to the deeply sublime without even a wrinkle. One of the most sought after acts on the UK circuit\, fresh off a tremendous run at the 2022 Edinburgh Festival.\nAnother veteran of the Edinburgh festival as well as festivals worldwide\, Kiwi Sully O’Sullivan makes his long overdue return to Plymouth Comedy Club. One of our most popular and well received acts across our time\, Sully’s eye for satire is all but unparalleled. Whether it’s his spot-on observations on British culture from an outside perspective or true stories from his travels he’s relentlessly funny.\nSupport is provided by bold rising star Alex Kitson and resident MC Chris Brooker will be back to compere proceedings. \nFood will be available at the Green Taverners’ Suite on the night alongside their well stocked bar. DESCRIPTION:Friday 23rd September 2022 \nJoin us for an evening of Traditional Irish Folk music with Tim O’Riordan and Ger Murphy (also known as Natural Gas duo) all the way from Ireland! \nTim famously wrote The Langer Song (An Irish Number One Hit) which was the inspiration behind ‘The Janner Song’\, written by the fabulous Rick O’Shay! \nRick happened to be on holiday in Ireland and heard the song and then saw Tim sing it live in Danny Mann’s Bar in Killarney.
