Players Visit St Austell Brewery
Category: News
Green Taverners decided it was time the players had a day out and with St Austell Brewery offering to help out with the day and show the players around the Brewery and also provide them with some food and drink what better than to show the players the support of the Green Taverners.
A thoroughly great tour of the brewery was followed by some go Kart racing, which saw the players split into 2 groups and the race was on. After half an hour of racing in which the players were very competitive some more than others (Rory Patterson and Simon Walton).
During the Visit to St Austell Brewery, we were given a cheque for £1,000 from St Austell to help the staff fund and also agreement to support the GT’s till the end of the season at FanFests, and also player of the season awards.
We asked a couple of players for their comments:-
Carl Fletcher:-
“It was a great day for everyone, and a massive thanks has to go to the Green Taverners for organising it all. It was nice to forget about the off field troubles for a couple of hours, and enjoy a good day out.
Rory Patterson was the worst go kart driver of the day!!”
Simon Walton:-
“It was a great day out and just what the team needed with the big run in coming up. We are grateful for all the support and help that we are receiving and hopefully we can pay it back by keeping us in the league! If we play as well as Walts drives go karts then we will stay up!!! :-)”
