Season Ticket Staff Statement
Category: News
TODAY, Plymouth Argyle launched season-ticket prices for the new season.
This was, for us, a hugely significant event – it is proof, after months and months of uncertainty, that Plymouth Argyle has a future.
It is no exaggeration to say that many of us doubted, at times, whether the club would survive to reach this point.
That it has got to where we are today is because, among other things, we have worked virtually unpaid since the end of January – a period described by one member of staff recently as “six months of Hell”.
We did that because we did not want Plymouth Argyle to die and we knew we were in a position to help make sure that did not happen, even at extreme personal cost.
The Administrators have come up with solutions – however unpalatable – to make sure the club could carry on in intense circumstances when the easier course of action would have been to shut it down.
We have received tremendous emotional and financial support from the Green Army during this period, for which we are grateful beyond expression and which has helped us through the dark times.
We are now emerging into the light, with optimism for the future.
There are historical issues to be resolved, of course, but with the Sale and Purchase Agreement having been signed, we can move forward, a club reborn, with new owners and a positive future.
We look forward to making progress under our new owners and will be doing everything in our power to make sure that Plymouth Argyle not only survives, but prospers.
The club is not out of the woods yet – it faces an operating loss next season – so we still all need to unite and support the club in every way possible.
Therefore, we would appeal to all fans to show their support for the club by buying a season-ticket for the 2011-12 season.
Simply, the greater the club’s income, the easier it will be for us to help Peter Reid and the players to achieve the success for our club for which we all long.
Thank you.
