June the 3rd will see the return of the Plymouth Half Marathon, a renowned gruelling course makes this 13.1 Mile run one of the toughest in the country.
This year Andy ‘Roo’ Notman is taking up the challenge to take part and is aiming to achieve the course in under 2 hours.
Andy has previously ran the course in 2005, 2006 and 2007, However after suffering a snapped Anterior Cruciate Ligament in 2009 and subsequent reconstructive surgery in 2010 this will be the first time he has put back on the running trainers.
Stating that the half way mark through Saltram House is the hardest part of the course Andy joked: “Everyone has heard of the ‘runner’s Wall’ this particular part is a Mountain, but I am determined to get through it.”
“I think I have been guilty over the past year of not doing enough to help the great work that the Green Taverners have done for Plymouth Argyle, therefore any funds I raise will be donated to them”
“I think that speeding up the payments to the staff that went months unpaid is a fantastic idea, and I would be proud to say I helped in this cause”
Andy is aiming to raise £250 through sponsorship.
